Google showcases HTML5 with “20 Things I Learned”

This week Google launched a website called “20 Things I Learned about Browsers and the Web” using HTML5 to create an e-book. The book is a great showpiece for the possibilities of what can be done with HTML5.

The design is not only beautiful, but also very intuitive to navigate through. The illustrations from Christopher Niemann add a liveliness and sense of cheerfulness that helps keep even non-technical readers reading. The book is written to a reader who doesn’t really know what cloud computing means or how to differentiate between authentic URLs and impersonators.

Despite the intended audience, anyone interested in what’s next on the web should give it a read through.

Read the official Google blog post to find out more about why they chose to create “20 Things.” Google has dabbled with showing off HTML5 in the past with HTML5 Rocks and Arcade Fire’s interactive music video The Wilderness Downtown.
