Nora’s Multimedia Storytelling Vlog: Context vs Engagement

As part of the UW’s MCDM program I’m taking a multimedia storytelling class that’s all about learning how to create effective video. For my first video blog (vlog) I answered the question: How does the context of where you see a story affect its impact on your engagement in the narrative.

I’m definitely in a baby-steps learning phase when it comes to creating video. From this video alone I learned:
1) Prep your scene. See all that stuff on the couch behind me? Yeah. Next time I’ll clean that up first.
2) Understand your equipment. I filmed this 3 times. The first two attempts the video was sideways.
3) Make sure your subject is ‘fresh’. I filmed this at about 11:45 PM. Next time I’ll take a nap first!
